Pink City : Unfocussed
A series of out-of-focus photographs of the Jaipur Walled City (Rajasthan, India), also known as the Pink City. More than 250 years old and one of the most famous historical cities of India, Jaipur also happens to be my hometown. The simple technique used in making these images renders them like watercolour paintings, focussing essentially on the “flavour” of this unique location. Stylistically, these images draw upon the early 20th century photographic movement Pictorialism and perhaps stand in contrast to the current obsession with sharpness and resolution in the world of photography. This series consists of 24 unique images, available as limited edition prints (Edition: 15).
